FAQ

What else do merchants ask about shipping dates?

Can customers choose a shipping date on Shopify?

Yes. With Bird, your customers pick a date, a date and time, or a time range for shipping orders in the cart widget, from the days you ship.

Can I offer shipping without a date picker?

Yes. Set the Date & time slot type to No date & time, and shipping is offered without a calendar.

How do I stop next-day shipping after a cut-off?

Turn on preparation time and add a cut-off with a longer lead time after it. For example, cut-off 6:00 PM, 1 day before and 2 days after: orders after 6:00 PM can't pick the next day.

Can I charge more for weekend or rush shipping?

Yes, with Bird shipping rates. You can set rates based on the selected day and rush fees based on urgency.

Can Bird send live shipping rates to Shopify checkout?

Yes. On the Rates page, choose to send Bird's rates through Shopify's carrier-calculated shipping, the setting that lets apps show live rates at checkout. It's a Shopify feature, so your Shopify plan must include it, and most stores don't need it.

Why does shipping look doubled at checkout?

When a cart has products from different Shopify shipping profiles, Shopify adds each profile's rate into one total. Moving products that ship the same way into one profile fixes it.

Can I make the shipping date mandatory?

Yes. Turn on Validate selections and your customers can't check out without a shipping date. Selection expiry clears dates picked too long ago.

How much does a shipping date picker cost?

Paid plans start at $19.99 a month, billed through Shopify, with a 14-day free trial and 10% off annual billing. The pricing page shows what each plan includes.
